NEET UG Exam: Telegram Restrictions
In view of the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 which is scheduled on June 21, the Centre has temporarily restricted access to Telegram across India till June 22, 2026 to prevent paper leaks. The examination day and the subsequent few days have been covered under this restriction issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under Section 69A of IT Act.
Besides this, Telegram has shut down the feature that lets users edit messages in India until 30 June to fend off bogus so-called ‘paper leak' allegations. The step is aimed at eliminating "organized" cheating groups that used Telegram channels to cheat the stressed-out NEET aspirants by selling or promising them leaked papers for the re-test.
