AIBE 21 Exam Day Instructions: BCI Enforces Strict Rules on Prohibited Items

AIBE 21: Bar Council of India (BCI) has laid down strict instructions that are mandatory to be followed for the upcoming All India Bar Examination (AIBE XXI/21). Considering the fact that this offline, pen-and-paper examination is the most important stage for obtaining a practicing Certificate of Practice (COP), aspirants need to be aware of the list of things which are strictly prohibited and rules regarding the gate closing timings along with those pertaining to the use of reference material. As per the guidelines, candidates will have to reach their allotted exam centers by 11:30 AM for the purpose of biometric verification/screening.

According to the new set of regulations, the open book method is highly curtailed such that candidates cannot bring textbooks, their personal notes, and other books to use as reference material to the hall. The only study materials allowed are those bare acts, which have no scribblings whatsoever on them. Additionally, any gadget, smartwatch, or correction fluid is banned completely. Failure to adhere to these stringent security measures or carrying unauthorized materials to the hall results in immediate disqualification.

The following items need to be presented to security staff by showing proof of possession before being allowed entry to your respective allotted seating area:

• A clear printout of your AIBE 21 hall ticket that can be downloaded from the official portal. 

• No digital versions on mobile devices will be entertained.  

• Physical copies of your original Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter ID, or your original Enrollment Identity Card of the State Bar Council.  

• Only Blue or Black ballpoint pens are permissible for shading your optical answer sheet.  

• You are allowed to carry Bare Acts. But, in this context, your text framework should be spotlessly clean with no handwritten solutions or commentaries in complicated case laws.

Candidates with Disabilities

In addition to this, the Bar Council has also provided some facilities for candidates with disabilities. Those who have over 40% of their disability shall get an additional 20 minutes of time for every hour they spend on answering questions. The disabled candidates are also entitled to get the help of a scribe.
