The Asian Games 2026 have concluded in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with India witnessing some outstanding performances across different events. Despite a few heartbreaks, India managed to put up some extraordinary performances in the last couple of days to ensure a fourth-place finish with 85 medals.

A couple of sports dominated India's medal chart quite well, while several Indian athletes also secured multiple podium finishes during the tournament. In this article, we will explore India's medal tally across different sports as well as the top three Indian medal winners at the Asian Games 2026.

India Asian Games 2026 Medal Tally Across Different Sports

India finished at the fourth position in the final medal tally with 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze medals, taking the overall tally to 85 medals. The tally, however, was lower than India's previous edition in Hangzhou, where the country won a record 107 medals.

Three Indian athletes finished the Asian Games 2026 with 3 medals each, making them the joint-highest individual Indian medal winners of the edition. Two of these athletes came from archery, while one represented India in shooting.

1. Kumkum Anil Mohod - 3 Medals

Sport: Archery

Kumkum Anil Mohod was one of India's standout performers in archery at the Asian Games 2026. She won a total of three medals, including two gold medals and one silver medal.

Her gold medals came in the women's individual recurve and women's team recurve events. In the individual recurve final, Kumkum won India's first-ever gold medal in the women's individual recurve event at the Asian Games. She also teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Kirti to win gold in the women's team recurve event.

Her silver medal came alongside Dhiraj Bommadevara in the mixed team recurve event.
