RRB JE Exam Timing 2026

As per the exam city intimation slip released by the Railway Recruitment Boards, the RRB JE 2026 Exam will be conducted in three shifts each day. Candidates must reach the exam centre as per their reporting time because entry will not be allowed after the gate closing time.

RRB JE Exam Day Guidelines 2026

Candidates appearing for the RRB JE 2026 exam must strictly follow all exam day instructions issued by the Railway Recruitment Boards. Failing to follow the guidelines may lead to disqualification or denial of entry at the exam centre.

Below are the important instructions related to the admit card and required documents.

RRB JE Exam Day Guidelines for Admit Card

Candidates must download their RRB JE admit card from the official website and take a clear printout before the exam day. Entry to the examination centre will only be allowed after verification of the printed admit card along with valid photo identification.

The examination authority does not send any hard copy of the admit card by post. In case of any error in the details mentioned on the e-call letter, candidates should immediately contact the concerned RRB through the official email ID.

Candidates must carry the following to the exam venue:

  • A printed copy of the e-call letter (admit card)

  • One recent color passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in the application form)

  • Original valid photo ID proof

Aadhaar Card should also be carried to complete Aadhaar-enabled biometric verification as per the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.

Candidates must bring at least one original and valid (not expired) photo ID proof. Accepted ID proofs include:

  • Voter ID Card

  • Aadhaar Card or printed e-Aadhaar

  • Driving License

  • PAN Card

  • Passport

  • Government-issued Employee ID (for government employees)

  • School/College/University Photo ID Card

  • SSLC/HSC mark sheet with photograph

Under no circumstances will photocopies, scanned copies, or expired ID cards be accepted. The photograph on the admit card and the passport-sized photograph should clearly resemble the candidate’s appearance. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate will not be allowed entry into the examination hall.

Candidates are advised to carefully check all documents one day before the exam to avoid last-minute stress.

RRB JE Reporting Time Guidelines

Candidates must strictly follow the reporting and gate closing timings for the RRB JE exam. The reporting time is 7:30 AM, the gate will close at 8:30 AM, and the exam will begin at 9:00 AM for the first shift.

Candidates must report by 11:15 AM, the gate will close at 12:15 PM, and the exam will start at 12:45 PM for the second shift. For the third shift, the reporting time is 3:00 PM, the gate will close at 4:00 PM, and the exam will start at 4:30 PM.

No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre after the gate closing time under any circumstances. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to reach the venue well before the reporting time to complete biometric verification, document checking, and frisking without stress.

RRB JE Exam Day Guidelines for Exam Centre

The complete details of the allotted exam centre are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates must appear only at the exam centre assigned to them.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the testing site at least a day prior to the date of the examination to avoid confusion at the last minute about routes or traffic. On the day of the examination, candidates are encouraged to arrive early.

It is important to note that appearing at any exam centre other than the one mentioned on the admit card will lead to immediate cancellation of candidature. No request for a change of centre will be entertained.

Items Banned Inside the RRB JE Exam Centre

Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying any banned items inside the examination premises. The following items are not allowed:

  • Mobile phones, pagers, smartwatches, or any type of watch

  • Earphones, Bluetooth devices, microphones, health bands

  • Calculators, books, notes, papers, pens, pencils, erasers, scales, writing pads

  • Handbags, purses, caps, belts, cameras

  • Metallic items, jewellery, bangles, bracelets, ornaments, mangalsutra, religious symbols

  • Packaged or open food items and water bottles

If any candidate is found carrying prohibited items, their candidature will be cancelled immediately. Strict legal action, including debarment from future examinations, may also be taken.

Candidates are also advised not to apply henna (mehendi) on their hands or feet, as it may interfere with biometric verification.

Strictly Prohibited Activities at RRB JE 2026 Exam Centre

During the examination, candidates must avoid any unfair practices. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Carrying banned items into the exam hall

  • Using mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, MP3 players, tablets, or similar gadgets

  • Copying answers from chits, clothing, body parts, e-call letters, or any unauthorized material

  • Using books, notes, or study material during the exam

  • Accessing the internet or running unauthorized programs on the exam computer

  • Communicating or attempting to chat with other candidates

Any involvement in malpractice will result in immediate disqualification and may lead to further disciplinary or legal action.
