Professor Gaurang Dutta's research is lauded as 54 faculty members of KIIT make it to the list of top 5% scientists in the world

SciRank Global Scientist Index is an independent ranking system based on a scientific research impact measurement methodology that is transparent and data-driven. In 2025, the index evaluated over 10 million researchers currently active and almost 50 million publications in scientific research from all over the world. Scientists who achieve a rank of the top 5 per cent are acknowledged as having research impact and productivity above that of the majority of the global scientific community.

This achievement is the result of KIIT's continued efforts to develop a strong research culture where innovation, interdisciplinary research, and quality research output are promoted. SciRank ranks the published research of scientists according to a strict evaluation framework which relies on a Normalized Composite Score (NCS) which combines several bibliometric indicators with the number of research publications. Transparency, inclusiveness and full spectrum of academic disciplines are provided by the assessment which uses data from the OpenAlex, one of the world's largest open-access scholarly databases.
