 The Karnataka State Police has launched a fresh recruitment drive for around 1600 Armed Police Constable Positions under the City Armed Reserve (CAR) and District Armed Reserve (DAR) cadres. Online applications are being managed by KEA, which has started accepting applications.

The Karnataka State Police (KSP) has officially started accepting applications for candidates seeking a career in the law enforcement sector. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced 1600 vacancies for the Armed Police Constable (CAR and DAR). This huge recruitment drive is specifically aimed at the male candidates. Interested candidates can register themselves at the official website, i.e, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea, from June 22, 2026, to July 22, 2026. The written exam will be conducted on September 6, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026: Important Dates and Vacancy Details

The recruitment cycles divided the total number of vacancies, i.e, 1600, into two different operational regions to streamline the allocation and provide localised employment opportunities. The division of the vacancies is as follows:-

  • General Karnataka Division (Residual Parent Cadre):- 1421 vacancies
  • Kalyana Karnataka Division:- 179 vacancies

To secure a spot on the force, staying on top of the fast-tracked official timeline is important. KEA has scheduled the offline written examination for September 6, 2026, which will take place in a single morning session from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The last date to submit the application form and the fee is July 24, 2026.

Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026: What is the Eligibility Criteria?

Before filling out and submitting the application form, candidates must make sure that they completely satisfy the following structural requirements, which have been prescribed by the Karnataka State Police Board:-

Educational Background

  • Candidates must have qualified their Pre-University Course (PUC) or Class 12 or an equivalent secondary qualification from a recognised board.
  • Candidates awaiting their final results are not eligible to apply.
  • Must have studied Kannada as either the primary or secondary language at the SSLC (Class 10) level, or be prepared to pass the mandatory language exam conducted by KEA.

Age Limit

As of July 22, 2026, the candidates belonging to the following categories should specify the following age criteria:-

  • General Category: 18 and 33 years of age.
  • SC, ST, and OBC:- Eligible up to 35 years.
  • Tribal communities Eligibile upto 38 years
  • Ex-Serviceman:- Eligible for an additional 3-year relaxation on top of their net military service length, with 10% of total posts reserved exclusively for them and their immediate dependents.

Karnataka Police Recruitment 2026: What is the Selection Porcess?

To successfully qualify for the Karnataka state police recruitment cycle for CAR/DAR vacancies, candidates must qualify for the written exam. It is a OMR based Written test, which consists of 100 questions, which will be evaluated at 100 marks. The paper will consist of General Science, Geography, History, the Indian Constitution, Reasoning and General Studies. The paper will consist of a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Those candidates who qualify for the cutoff of the written exam will then be called for the physical screening test. These stages will involve a Physical Standard Test (PST)to check physical requirements (minimum height of 168 cm and a chest measurement of 86 cm with a 5 cm expansion), followed by a qualifying Physical Endurance Test (PET). Successfully selected candidates will be placed on a standard pay scale ranging between Rs. 37,500 and Rs. 76,100, alongside extensive state government medical and uniform allowances.
