School Holiday: Punjab Schools Closed Today, January 27, Check Updates Here

As per reports, all government, aided, private and recognised schools in Punjab are closed today, January 27, 2026. The school holiday has been announced to allow students and faculty members to rest after the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026.

School authorities have also been asked to ensure the directives issued by the government are followed. Classes will now resume in Punjab from tomorrow, January 28, 2026. Students and parents are advised to connect with school authorities regarding the holiday.

As per the tweet by Punjab Education Minister, "On the joyous occasion of Republic Day, a holiday is declared in all government, aided, private, and recognized schools of the state on 27-01-2026 in the presence of the announcement made by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Punjab. Ensure strict compliance with these orders," There are reports of students and parents complaining of non-compliance of schools with the order issued. Reports suggest that many have not received a holiday update from their schools while others state that both students and faculty have been instructed to attend schools as usual.
