A 19-year-old NEET Aspirant died by Suicide at her residence in Miyapur, Hyderabad on June 20, 2026. The NTA conducted the NEET UG 2026 re-exam on June 21, 2026. As per media reports, depression is suspected to be the cause for the candidate to take such an extreme step.
According to the police statement, the student appeared for the exam last year but was unable to clear the exam. She later went for long-term coaching and was preparing for the exams for the past year.
The parents of the deceased stay in Kuwait. She was a resident at an apartment in Miyapur with her two sisters, with her aunt living in the apartment adjacent to them.
As per police reports, the students went into her room after breakfast. Although her sisters thought she was preparing for the exams suspension rose when she did not come out until evening. When they opened the door, they found her hanging from the ceiling fan.
She left a suicide note stating that no one is responsible for her suicide, and she was not able to satisfy anyone. Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi hospital for a postmortem. A case has been launched, and an investigation is underway.
NEET UG 2026 Conducted on June 21
The NEET 2026 re-examination was conducted on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The exam was held in a single session from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. As per initial reactions from candidates, the Biology section was moderate to easy, while the Physics and Chemistry sections were moderate to difficult. The provisional answer keys are expected to be released online soon.
