Maharashtra School Holiday: The Maharashtra state government has announced a three-day mourning period following the tragic demise of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. The Deputy CM passed in a tragic plane crash today, January 28, 2026, near Baramati. Following this, the state government has announced the mourning period.
All government, government-aided, private schools, colleges and other institutions in the state will remain closed until January 30, 2026. According to the official notification issued by the state, as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, state mourning shall be observed throughout the state of Maharashtra for three days.

According to the official notification shared by the university, principals of all affiliated colleges in Commerce and Management, Arts and Education, the Director Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) are hereby informed that todays afternoon examination is rescheduled due to the sad Demise of Shri Ajit Ashatai Anantrao Pawar, Honorable Deputy CM, Government of Maharashtra on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. The revised dates will be announced later.
