The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has issued a notification regarding social media reports alleging a security breach. According to the notification issued, reports have been doing the rounds on social media alleging a security breach in an ICAI examination-related portal and claiming unauthorised access to ICAI examination records.

ICAI has clarified that the portal being referred to is examiners.icaiexam.icai.org, and it is a training portal used exclusively for examiners' orientation and has nothing to do with the exam-related records as claimed in the posts.

ICAI has assured all stakeholders that there has been no compromise of candidates' examination records, answer books, marks data or any sensitive information related to the exam process. ICAI has also urged stakeholders not to give any credence to such false, baseless and mischievous campaign.

ICAI has also viewed the matter seriously and assured that strict action will be taken in accordance with the law against people spreading such rumours and false claims. The institute has further added that its examination process is robust, totally secure and supported by a strong information technology infrastructure with multiple layers of safeguards to protect the integrity and confidentiality of examination-related data.

Students, members and stakeholders are also advised not to believe such rumours and false campaigns on social media and are requested to refer only to official communications issued by the ICAI for updates.
