The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has announced new reforms for the HPBOSE class 10 and class 12 board exam 2026. As per reports, the announcement was made by board chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma during a press conference. During the briefing, the chairman mentioned the introduction of identical question papers and MCQs for the upcoming class 10 and class 12 board exams.
HPBOSE will be conducting the HP Class 10 and Class 12 board exams along with the exams for the Open School students from March 3 to 28, 2026 and March 3 to April 1, 2026 respectively.
HPBOSE class 10, 12 Exam 2026: Revised Exam Pattern
A major change introduced for this year's annual board exams is the Multiple Choice Questions which will constitute 20% of the total marks for each subject. The inclusion of MCQs is to streamline the exam process and ensure that students are evaluated more uniformly across different sets of question papers. The board chairman has stated that all the question paper sets will now have the same questions only the order will be re-arranged. As per reports, the revised paper pattern aligns with the NEP modernising the exam pattern to prepare students for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
HP Board 10th and 12th Exam 2026 Schedule
HP board will be conducting the Class 10 examinations from March 3 to 28, 2026 while the HP class 12 exam will be conducted from March 3 to April 1, 2026. The board has also issued the schedule for the Class 10 and Class 12 practical exams. HPBOSE class 10 and class 12 practical exam 2026 will be held from February 20 to 28, 2026. The admit cards for the practical exams will be released soon.
HPBOSE Result 2026
Himachal Pradesh class 10 and class 12 board exam result 2026 will likely be released in the last week of April 2026. IT is expected that the board will complete the evaluation process with special evaluation centres and announce the results by April 30, 2026.
Exams to be Monitored
In a bid to avoid any cheating or practice of unfair means during the exams, the HPBOSE 10th and 12th board exams will be monitored by CCTV cameras connected to the board headquarters. The board has also deployed flying squads at sensitive and highly sensitive centres. Officials have also wanted that any centre found involved in mass copying or serious misconduct will face cancellation of exams along with strict action against the staff members.
