The online process, active May 19–29, requires purchasing scanned copies (₹700 per subject) before applying for mark verification or answer re-evaluation via the official portal. Fees range from ₹25 to ₹500. Supported by IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and four PSU banks, the government aims to ensure transparency and resolve all student concerns.

CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education us will open the window for candidates to submit their applications for CBSE class 12 answer sheet re-evaluation window will be open form 1 June, 2026. Those who have obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets can apply for the answer sheet re-evaluation process.

CBSE introduced its first digital revaluation system for Class 12 exams, aiming for enhanced transparency this year. The online re-evaluation process is being conducted from May 19 to May 29, 2026. Divided into two stages, students are required to first obtain a scanned copy of their answer sheet for ₹700 per subject (Stage 1) and after comparing their copy with the official marking scheme, they can apply for Stage 2, which is the verification of marks for ₹500 per book or re-evaluation of specific answers for ₹100 per question. 

The process involves 17 lakh students and 98 lakh answer copies, totalling 40 crore scanned pages. To date, 4 lakh students have accessed 11 lakh copies to verify marks or raise queries. Supported by IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and four PSU banks, the initiative provides integrated payment and technical oversight. While acknowledging some discrepancies, the government has accepted responsibility and pledged that all student concerns will be resolved with full accountability.

    CBSE Re-Evaluation Process 2026: Points to Remember

    Candidates applying for the answer sheet re-evaluation process need to keep in mind the following points

    1. Students can raise objections only for those subjects whose scanned copies of the answer sheets have been requested. In case a student has not requested and obtained the answer sheet of a particular subject, he/she cannot request re-evaluation of any answer of that subject. 

    2. There is no limit on the number of questions a student can request re-evaluation.

    3. Students can opt for re-evaluation of multiple questions across multiple subjects - subject to payment of the fees

    4. Re-evaluation is done only for the specific questions, and during this process, the totalling of marks or assessments for any other question is not done

    5. Obtaining scanned copies does not automatically signal initiation of the re-evaluation process; Students/ parents must raise the request again on the online portal once it opens

    6. Same registration information and login information has to be used for the re-evaluation process as was created for obtaining the scanned copies

    7. CBSE can both increase or decrease the marks awarded for the specific question during the re-evaluation of that particular question - final decision rests with the board
