UGC NET Economics Syllabus 2026

The UGC NET Syllabus for Economics in 2026 has been prepared by NTA to test the candidates' understanding of the subject matter of economics. It comprises ten units on various topics such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics & Econometrics, Mathematical Economics, International Economics, Public Economics, Monetary Economics and Money Banking, and Growth & Development Economics. The exam will take place from 22 June to 30 June 2026 through Computer-Based Test (CBT). The paper will be held without any negative marking in both Hindi and English languages.

UGC NET Economics Exam Pattern 2026

The UGC NET Economics test contains 150 questions for 300 marks, and it will be held for 3 hours. This test comprises two papers without any negative marking and all are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Paper I includes the evaluation of teaching/research skills of the aspirant whereas Paper II is about the evaluation of their subject expertise. Two marks are awarded for each correct response. The test will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode in Hindi and English.
