CBSE 12th Verification of Issues and Re-evaluation: Guidance for Students and Parents

Query Fact
Where will the revised results of verification of issues observed/re-evaluation for Class XII be available?
  • The revised results after verification and re-evaluation will be made available on DigiLocker.
  • The candidates can access the same through results.digilocker.gov.in
When will the marksheet be available so that candidates can use them for admission purposes?
  • The marksheets of candidates for the Main Examination were made available in their DigiLockers accounts immediately after the date of declaration of the Main Examination results on 13th May, 2026 and were subsequently dispatched to the candidates/schools.
  • Revised marksheets, wherever applicable after Verification of issues observed/Re-evaluation, are also being uploaded to the candidates' DigiLocker accounts simultaneously with their Verification of issues observed/Re-evaluation results. This is done in a phased manner. For the majority of the students the same has been done on 21st June while for remaining students the process will be completed very soon.
What is the meaning of verification of issues observed and re-evaluation and how are both things different? Verification of Issues Observed
  • In verification of issues observed in supplied scanned copy of answer book, a student could request for resolution of one or more of any of the following issues:
    • Missing Pages
    • Missing Supplementary Sheet(s)
    • Missing Map(s) or Graph(s)
    • Blurred pages
    • Answer-book of some other student
    • Answer-book evaluated against marking scheme of different set
  • Verification of issues observed can be sought for one or more subjects
Re-evaluation
  • A student could apply for re-evaluation of one or more questions in a subject for which the scanned copy of the answer book was obtained.
  • Re-evaluation could also be sought for one or more subjects.
What if a Candidate’s marks remained unchanged /decreased after re-evaluation?
  • Verification of issues observed and re-evaluation are review processes intended to examine specific concerns raised by candidates.
  • They do not automatically result in a change of marks. Every year, it is observed that marks may increase or decrease or marks remain the same depending on the outcome of the review.
  • Any genuine discrepancy raised in the application will be duly reflected in the re-evaluation results, as like every year, CBSE has followed a systematic, transparent, and well-defined evaluation and review process.
  • Any revision in marks, wherever applicable, is made only after careful review & in interest of maintaining fairness and accuracy.
Measures taken during the Verification of issues observed and /or re-evaluation process
  • All complaints relating to missing pages, missing supplementary answer books, missing graphs, missing maps, blurred pages, answer books evaluated with different sets of marking scheme, or similar issues have been carefully examined and addressed.
  • Candidates who applied for the verification of issues observed and where CBSE has reported the outcome as no-change, would be offered an opportunity, if they wish to inspect their answer books at the concerned CBSE Regional Office. The schedule for the same would be released soon.
Was there any delay in releasing the outcome of the re-evaluation and verification of issues observed? Last year, the outcome of the re-evaluation and verification of issues observed process was released starting from 27th June 2025 till 11th July 2025.
What efforts are taken to ensure a fair and accountable verification of issues observed and re-evaluation process ?
  • CBSE has undertaken the process with utmost care and with a clear focus on students’ interests.
  • Experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur were roped in for continuous monitoring and hand-holding.
  • Every application received from students was examined on merit. Each answer book undergoing re-evaluation was checked by two evaluators.
  • Officers from CBSE Headquarters and Regional Offices were deputed to monitor the process personally.
Do the changes in the marks indicate problems in the evaluation? No. Every year, in a certain number of cases the marks are changed after re-evaluation. The re-evaluation process provides an opportunity for the students to reconfirm their score and wherever due to some reason including evaluators assessment, the marks are not as per the marking scheme, those are corrected through re-evaluation process. Through this process CBSE ensures to address the student issues.
Measures taken regarding fee reduction CBSE has also reduced the fee for scanned copies from Rs. 700 to Rs.100, for verification of issues observed in answer books from Rs. 500 to Rs. 100 and for re-evaluation from Rs. 100 to Rs. 25 per question.
Duplicate / Excess Payments
  • The excess or duplicate payment if any shall be refunded to the source account.
  • The fee shall also be refunded in case of increase of marks to the source accounts after the result of re-evaluation.
Student Mental Health To help students cope with examination and result-related stress, the Board has made available a free dedicated 24x7 tele-helpline (1800-11-8004). Parents are also advised to help students focus on the further opportunities and facilities provided by the Board.
Supplementary / Improvement Exam (Regular and Private candidates) The Notification of Supplementary Examination (Private & Regular Candidate) shall be issued soon.
