National AI Skilling Initiative: My WAVES, In built TV Tuner and EPG to Train You Tubers and Media Professionals

National AI Skilling Initiatives launched by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to transform the technology democratisation such as television viewing, making high-quality entertainment more accessible to households across the country. 

What is the National AI Skilling Initiative?

The National AI Skilling Initiative is a strategic program designed to future-proof the workforce against the rapid evolution of technology. 

This initiative focuses on  AI applied teaching professionals how to integrate machine learning, automated editing, and data-driven insights into their specific fields such as animation, visual effects, gaming comics(AVGC) and Media Technology.

For media professionals, this means moving beyond simple video editing to understanding how AI algorithms prioritize content and how automated metadata can improve searchability.

Key Features of National AI Skilling Initiative:

• Practical AI Integration: Focuses on using AI for real-time transcription, language translation, and automated highlight generation.

• Hybrid Learning Models: Combines cloud-based AI tools with physical hardware training.

• Certification & Industry Recognition: Provides credentials backed by industry leaders to ensure participants are job-ready.

• Focus on Accessibility: Ensuring that creators from all backgrounds have access to high-level technical training.

• It will train 15,000 participants from the creative and media sectors.

• The programme will be implemented through Indian Institute of Creative Technologies(IICT).

• The Initiative will be implemented in Two Phases:

1. 1. Phase I: It will focus on foundation AI learning at scale of Google Career Certificates and Google Cloud Generative AI Learning paths. It will include the courses like Prompting Essentials, Introduction to Generative AI and AI Essentials, successful participants will be mandatory for progression to the next stage.

   2. Phase II: It will Focus on advanced, hands-on and project-based specialization for the creative industry. Training will be conducted in major cities across the country, supporting creators, media professionals, students and developers in building future-ready skills.

My WAVES, Built-in TV Tuner, and EPG

One of the most innovative aspects of this initiative is the use of My WAVES (Wireless Advanced Video Entertainment System) alongside traditional broadcast hardware like built-in TV Tuners and Electronic Program Guides (EPG).

How it Works for YouTubers and Media Pros:

1. My WAVES Technology: This platform allows creators to manage content distribution across multiple streams seamlessly. It acts as a bridge between live broadcast and on-demand digital content.

2. Integrated TV Tuners: By including TV tuners in training kits, YouTubers learn the technical standards of traditional broadcast—frame rates, signal stability, and regulatory compliance—ensuring their content meets "broadcast quality."

3. EPG (Electronic Program Guide) Training: Understanding EPG is crucial for metadata management. It teaches creators how to categorize content so it is discoverable by AI-driven recommendation engines.
