NEET 2026 Exam Live: NTA Confirms Paper Leak, Cancels May 3 Exam for All, New Date Soon

The revised schedule for NEET UG 2026 will be available online soon. The National Testing Agency will be conducting the NEET UG exams once again, considering the paper leak allegations and malpractice due to which the exams were cancelled. The new dates and the re-release of the admit cards for the new exams will be available on the official website - neet.nta.nic.in. 

NEET UG 2026 exams conducted on May 3, 2026, have been cancelled owing to malpractice and paper leak allegations after the exams were conducted. Students have, however, not taken the decision of the NTA to cancel the exams kindly. Many have come ahead criticising theNTA for its incompetence in conducting the national level exams. Many student bodies have also come ahead in protest of the decision. 

The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) workers hold a protest against the central government after the NEET-UG 2026 examination was cancelled amid allegations of paper leak and examination irregularities. As per reports, protestors were seen climbing the barricades at Shastri Bhavan, marking their protest. In 10 years, 89 paper leaks--48 re-exams. NEET UG 2026 was conducted on May 3, 2026. The exam conducted now stands cancelled, and the revised schedule will be released soon. Along with the date for the re-conduct of exams, NTA will also re-issue the admit cards for the exams to be conducted again.

NTA has mentioned that all further communications, including the re-conduct of the exams, re-issuing of admit cards, will be given through official channels only. Parents and aspirants are requested to rely only on the official channels and disregard unverified reports on social media. 

As per the details provided by NTA, the registration data, candidature, and examination centres opted for in the May 2026 cycle will be carried forward to the re-conducted examination. No fresh registration will be required, and no additional examination fee will be levied. In addition, fees already paid will be refunded to the students, and the exam will be re-conducted using NTA’s internal resources.

After carefull consideration of the situation, NTA has decided that the NEET exam conducted on May 3 stands cancelled and the revised schedule, admit card etx will be issued on the website soon. Aspirants who have appeared for the NTA NEET 2026 exams are advised to keep visiting the offcial website for latest updates. 

As per the details issued by the NTA, the NEET examination on 3 May 2026 was conducted as scheduled and under a full security protocol. Question papers were transported in GPS-tracked vehicles bearing unique, traceable watermark identifiers. On the late evening of 7 May 2026, four days after the examination, NTA received inputs concerning alleged malpractice activity around the examination. These inputs were escalated by NTA to central agencies on the morning of 8 May 2026 for independent verification and necessary action. The inputs received by NTA, taken together with the findings shared by the law enforcement agencies, established that the present examination process could not be allowed to stand. The re-conducted examination dates, along with the re-issued admit-card schedule, will be communicated through the official channels of the Agency in the coming days. This decision has been taken in the interest of students and in recognition of the trust on which the national examination system rests.

With the news of the NEET 2026 exam cancellation, students and aspirants have poured their frustrations with the agency. Many have questioned the capability of the NTA to conduct such national-level exams. It must be noted that the NTA has suffered such reactions from students every year with respect to conducting the national level medical entrance exam.

NTA in their Tweet mentioned - "The inputs received by NTA, taken together with the findings shared by the law enforcement agencies, established that the present examination process could not be allowed to stand."
