Mumbai School Holiday The Meteorological Department, IMD has issued a red alert in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, BMC has announced a holiday for schools in Mumbai. This decision has been taken by the higher authorities due to precautionary measures for the school and college going students. It has also advised not to step out of home if it is not necessary as heavy rainfall is expected in some parts of the city. 

Heavy rainfall is expected from July 4 to July 6, 2026 in Mumbai and nearby districts like Ratnagiri, Palghar, Thane, and more. For the next 24 hours, rainfall is likely to continue in the city and nearby areas, with waterlogging on the roads and gusty winds.  

Schools Closed in Mumbai 

The BMC has declared a school holiday in Mumbai for afternoon session for schools and colleges. According to IMD the red alert was issued, reported by PTI. This decision was taken to ensure the safety of school and college going students. It is advised for parents and students not to go out as due to heavy rainfall there is waterlogging and high levels of water can lead to casualties. The school will likely start working after July 6. To stay updated with recent notice and announcements parents and students should frequently check news, DM orders and school official whatsapp groups and notice.

Monsoon Activity Expected in Delhi 

In Delhi, it is highly expected that monsoon activity will hit Delhi's weather. IMD has issued a yellow alert on July 4, 2026, Saturday. With forecasting cloudy skies and light rainfall in some parts of Delhi. It is expected that the same weather will continue for July 5 and July 6, 2026 with more rainfall on the weekend and early week. As there is no holiday declared, School will be functioning as per normal schedule. Students can take precautionary measures while coming and going from schools and colleges.
