While qualifying marks establish the eligibility for the rank list, a score above 180+ is typically required for the top 5,000 rank and admission into core branches at premier  IITs.

The qualifying cutoff for JEE Advanced is notoriously changeable, as it depends entirely on the difficulty level set by the organising IIT, IIT Roorkee, for 2026 and the relative performance of the top 2.5 lakh candidates. Analysing the data from 2021 to 2025, we observed that the aggregate qualifying percentage for the Common Rank List, CRL, has fluctuated between 15.28% and 30.34%.
