The UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana 2026 is launched by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to provide a free farmer accident insurance scheme with NO premium charged to farmers

To claim this scheme, the applicant must apply to register under this scheme. The entire process of this application is available only online. 

Objective

The main objective of the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana 2026 is to provide financial assistance and social protection to farmers and their family members in Uttar Pradesh in the event of accidental death or disability.

Benefits

The benefits of the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana are that:

  1. FREE accident insurance: Death = ₹5 lakh.

  2. Complete disability = ₹5 lakh.

  3. Partial disability = ₹2.5 lakh

With NO Premium Charged

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for this scheme are:

  1. The farmer must be aged between 18 to 70 years at the time of the accident.

  2. Permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.

  3. Must be a landowner and have a land record in the Uttar Pradesh revenue department or must be a tenant farmer whose record is also present in the UP land record.

  4. All types of accidental death and disabilities are covered in this scheme 

  5. The application must be submitted within 45 days of the accident to the Tehsildar/Lekhpal of that area.

  6. Only accidental death or disability is eligible, not illness or natural deaath are eligible for this scheme.

Required Documents

List of the required documents:

  1. Death Certificate/Medical Certificate for the accident (Government hospital)

  2. FIR copy if the accident is road/crime-based or Panchnama from the village

  3. Postmortem Reports (in case of death)

  4. UP Khasra/Khatauni (land records) showing the farmer’s name as the landowner in Uttar Pradesh

  5. Aadhaar card of the victim

  6. Bank Passbook of claimant

  7. Relation proof for claiming the amount

  8. Disability certificate from government hospital (for disability claims)

  9. Passport-size photograph

How to Apply for the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana 2026?

To apply for the UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana, applicants must follow these steps:

  1. First, visit the Tehsildar/Lekhpal within 45 days of the accident.

  2. Take the application form of UP Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana

  3. Fill out the application with your applicant names, date of birth, father’s name, and Aadhaar number.

  4. Attach all the documents: FIR copy, postmortem reports, and land records where the name of the landowner must be mentioned

  5. Submit your application to the Tehsil Officer, and they will verify and forward it to the District Agriculture Officer for further processing.

  6. After the completion of verification, the ₹5 lakh will be given for death or disability from the accident, and ₹2.5 lakh will be given to half-disability through DBT.
