The syllabus of RRB NTPC UG Exam 2026 includes three subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness. These three subjects are common for both CBT 1 and CBT 2 examinations. Although the syllabus topics of the two examinations are the same, there are differences in the difficulty level of each examination.

RRB NTPC UG Syllabus 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially released the RRB NTPC Undergraduate (UG) Syllabus 2026. There are 3,058 vacancies in Undergraduate-level positions in this recruitment Drive. Aspirants willing to serve in the Indian Railways should thoroughly review the complete syllabus before beginning their preparation. The syllabus of RRB NTPC includes three important topics: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness (General Science) in both CBT 1 and CBT 2. Having full knowledge about the syllabus which help aspirants to prepare themselves efficiently for the examination.

RRB NTPC UG Exam Pattern 2026

RRB NTPC examination follows multiple steps, which include CBT 1, CBT 2, and some other exams like Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). A candidate has to pass all such exams in order to go to the next round. In the CBT 1 exam, marks scored by candidates cannot be taken into account while calculating the merit list. The final merit list is prepared according to the marks scored in the CBT 2 exam. Given below is the complete pattern of this exam.

RRB NTPC UG CBT 1 Exam Pattern 2026

There is a total of 100 questions for 100 marks. Each question would carry one mark, and a negative marking of 1/3 mark would be applicable for each incorrect response. The duration of the examination would be 90 minutes, and for candidates who belong to the PwBD category, it would be 120 minutes.

The difficulty of CBT 2 is greater than that of CBT 1. The total number of questions for CBT 2 is 120, which includes 35 questions from mathematics, 35 from reasoning, and 50 from general awareness.

RRB NTPC UG Syllabus 2026: Section-wise

The syllabus for the RRB NTPC is the same for both CBT I and CBT II, yet the difference lies in the number of questions asked and the difficulty level of the exam. The entire paper consists of multiple-choice questions based on three disciplines, including Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness. Candidates applying for the UG posts should pay equal attention to all three disciplines.

Mathematics assesses the quantitative ability and reasoning skills of an applicant through various problems, mostly from Class 10 level topics. Some major topics included in this section are Number System, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Time & Work, Mensuration, Algebra, and Data Interpretation. It can be noted that the difficulty level of this section is moderate.

It includes crucial concepts such as Analogy, Classification, Blood Relations, Venn Diagrams, etc.

3. General Awareness

General Awareness is the most scoring paper and is usually the one that makes or breaks the score. The syllabus covers Current Affairs, History, Geography, Economics, Science, and Railways. General Awareness holds the most weightage in both CBT 1 and CBT 2 papers and is generally the "make or break" paper for the merit list.
