Railway Minister Reviews RRB Recruitement Process: The Railway Minister, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, conducted a meeting at the level of officials of Indian Railways about the recruitment process of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). According to Press Release, in the meeting, he stressed the importance of accuracy, transparency, and technology-enabled systems. The railway minister also mentioned the need for rapid completion of the cycle, an increase in tab-based tests and improved communication with candidates. In FY 2025-26, Indian Railways recruited 43,781 candidates by completing recruitment cycles for 47,084 vacancies in six major categories. This review shows that Indian Railways is dedicated to merit-based, technology-enabled recruitment for lakhs of aspirants across India.
Completed Recruitments in FY 2025-26
Recruitment for 47,084 vacancies in six broad categories was completed during FY 2025-26 by Indian Railways, whereby 43,781 candidates were empanelled. This is indicative of the fact that there have been considerable efforts made by Indian Railways to fill up positions on a well-planned basis. These categories are related to technical, para-military, and paramedical positions. That these recruitment cycles have been completed within the span of one year also indicates the effect of the annual recruitment schedule laid down by the Ministry.
