What is Revaluation (Reassessment)?

In case you believe there are errors with marks after checking the photocopy, then a request for reassessment will help you get your marks reassessed by the concerned authorities. There is also something called "Ordinary verification," where only marks' calculations and entries are verified, not reassessed.

Reassessment Fees

According to the modified fee structure from the previous cycle, the cost of regular verification is ₹50 for each paper, while the reassessment of the photocopy would cost ₹450 per subject. The fees could change again in the next cycle in 2026, so it is important to verify from the MSBTE notice.

After Revaluation

Once the result declaration is made, colleges provide the mark sheets to the students. In case of increased marks, the old mark sheet will be substituted by the new one. However, if the student has an 'F' grade in any particular subject, then they have to appear in the back paper exam.

MSBTE Passing Marks and Grading System Explained

As the MSBTE Summer 2026 Diploma Result is announced today, 18th June, it is natural that many students might have queries regarding their marks conversion into grades and the passing criteria.

1. Passing Marks

To pass a particular subject in the MSBTE diploma examination, a candidate needs to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the overall assessment of Theory and Internal Assessment. This implies that the marks scored in the examination as well as internal assessment (marks from college), are added together, and the sum must exceed 40% for passing.

2. Grace Marks 

The board of MSBTE can grant grace marks, called Condonation, in case a candidate fails by a small margin in one or two subjects. This facility is available on a few occasions, and therefore, candidates need not expect the same every time.

3. Grading System

MSBTE usually follows the Credit-Based Grading System (CBGS), which awards grades to students depending on their performance marks per subject. The letter grades usually include the following:

O – Outstanding

A+ – Excellent

A – Very Good

B+ – Good

B – Above Average

C – Average

P – Pass

F – Fail

The outcome is usually presented as Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). There are a few diploma programs that may have adopted the traditional percentage grading system.

4. ATKT (Backlog) Status

The full form of ATKT is “Allowed to Keep Terms.” In case a student fails in one or two subjects but passes the promotion conditions, he/she will be promoted with ATKT conditions and need to clear the backlog papers in the next exams.

Expected Cut-Off and Percentage Analysis for MSBTE Students

MSBTE Exam Passing Cutoff is fixed and does not change year to year. A student is considered passed only if they secure a minimum of 40% marks in the exam. This 40% applies to the combined Theory and Internal Assessment marks in each subject.

Percentages Calculation: What Makes Up Your Percentage?

The MSBTE results contain information such as your name, roll number, marks per subject, total marks, percentages, grades, and whether you pass or fail the examination. The total percentage obtained by you is calculated using the total marks obtained in all the subjects in a particular semester.
