The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has announced free marks for HS Mathematics exams conducted on February 19, 2026. As per reports, 10 marks will be awarded to students following an expert review committee’s review of the WB HS Semester 4 maths examination.
The WB HS Semester 4 mathematics exam was conducted on February 19, 2026. After the exam concluded, students and parents argues of out of syllabus questions in the examination. The board‘s expert committee later investigated and found that three questions in the semester 4 mathematics exam were out of the syllabus, carrying 10 marks.
A total of three questions were out of the syllabus. As per details abailable Question 2B carried 2 Marks, Question 11B carried 4 Marks and Question 11C also carried 4 marks taking the total to 10 marks.
How will the Marks be Awarded.
According to the president of WBCHSE, the free marks will be awarded to students who attempted the out of syllabus questions. Full marks will be awarded even if the answer is incorrect or incomplete.
