The Rouse Avenue Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to file its response on the interim bail application moved by NEET UG paper leak accused Yash Yadav. According to reports, the accused has sought a 15-day interim bail to appear for the NEET UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.

Special Judge (CBI) Ajay Gupta granted the CBI time to submit its reply and fixed the next hearing in the matter for June 12, 2026.

The court had earlier granted the Yadav permission to keep books and study materials with him to prepare for the upcoming examination. It was earlier submitted in court that Yash Yadav had appeared in the NEET UG examination conducted on May 3. His counsel also sought permission for access to study material, stating that he required books for preparation for the re-exam. The court has also sought clarity on whether the NTA will allow him to take the exam despite being accused of the paper leak and whether the admit card has been issued to him.

According to reports, it is alleged that Mangilal Biwal contacted Shubham Khairnar for a NEET UG 2026 question paper for his son Vikas Biwal. It is also alleged that Shubham first leaked the paper to Yash, then Yash to Mangilal, which was later given to Vikas, then to Dinesh Biwal.

The CBI has earlier arrested several individuals linked to the May 3 exam paper leak case, which include Shubham Khairnar, Manisha Waghmare, Prahalad Kulkarni, Manisha Mandhare, Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, Dr Manoj Shirure and Tejas Harshad Kumar Shah.
