CBSE Class 10 Second Board 2026: CBSE Class 10 Second Board 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will introduce its first-ever dual-board examination system for Class 10 during the 2025–2026 academic year, marking a significant change for Indian education. The board is currently getting ready for the historic "Second Board Exam" that is set to start on May 15, 2026, following the conclusion of the first board exams, which took place between February 17 and March 10 and the results were announced on April 15.

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is the driving force behind this reform, which aims to lessen the high-stakes strain of a single annual exam by giving students another chance to improve their performance or pass subjects without missing a whole academic year. A sizable cohort of 668,854 students have enrolled for this first second phase, according to official data given by CBSE. 402,643 male candidates, 266,209 female candidates, and two people classified under the "Other" category make up the examinees, according to a thorough demographic breakdown of the applicants.

A more student-centric approach to evaluation is ensured by this dual-exam structure, which gives students the freedom to keep the "best of two" marks. In order to create a more robust learning environment, CBSE is providing this second window in May, which will enable more than six lakh students to improve their academic records prior to moving on to senior secondary education.
