The "Schools of Eminence" initiative has resulted in better government schooling in Punjab. These schools, launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stand for much more than a new facility. These schools aim to revolutionize the way learning happens. Presently, 118 schools in 23 districts are operational, giving a new name to government schools.
Such schools represent equal opportunities. Children of different backgrounds come together, which helps inculcate the concept of equality in the minds of the children. Proper buildings, smart classrooms, libraries, and science labs are considered good learning resources.
The overall purpose is to prepare students for life, and not for exams only. They focus on being creative, thinking well, and being confident. Free bus rides have really helped students who live far away.
We are seeing good things happen. Students are doing well on big tests like NEET and JEE, which is changing old ideas about what government schools can do. Punjab also did really well in a national survey about school performance. Teachers getting training from other countries has made things even better. Schools of Eminence are setting up Punjab to be a leader in education.
