India Post GDS 4th Merit List: Process after Merit List
All candidates whose names have been mentioned in the India Post GDS 4th Merit List 2026 should adhere to the process after merit list mentioned below:

Document Verification (DV): The selected candidates will be called for the process of Document Verification. This will be an important activity after the release of the merit list. All candidates must bring original documents along with copies duly attested by themselves.

Documents Required: These include documents related to the 10th class marks/degree, caste certificate (if any), date of birth proof, computer certificate, identity proof like Aadhaar/voter ID card, and passport-size photos.

Timely Reporting: Candidates are expected to report at the designated postal division office on the particular date and time mentioned in the call letter. Failure to appear on the DV day will disqualify the candidature of the candidate.

Final Selection: After a successful DV process, candidates will be eligible for final selection and will be appointed as Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) under their allotted postal circle.

India Post GDS Merit List Preparation Procedure?
Candidates will be selected on the basis of a merit list that will be generated through a computer system. The merit list for the GDS vacancies will be based on the marks secured/aggregated to a percentage through grade/points to marks in the secondary school examination up to four decimal places.
- In case the mark sheet indicates the marks for each subject, or marks together with the grade/points, the total marks will be calculated based on marks scored in all required subjects.
- In case the mark sheet indicates only grade/points, the marks will be determined based on converting grades/points through multiplying with 9.5 against the maximum marks or grade 100.
