Railway Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for Railway Recruitment 2024 vary according to the post for which the recruitment notification has been released. To be able to apply for the railway recruitment 2024 candidates have to fulfil the following given eligibility criteria.

  • Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification to apply for a Railway job is 10th pass. On the other hand, the minimum age limit to apply for the exam is 18 years. 

List of Railway Jobs 2024 

The Indian Railway recruits candidates for Group A, B, C, D and other posts. The eligibility criteria to apply for the railway jobs 2024 vary according to the job. Check the list of the railway jobs below. 

Group 'A' Posts: Group A post railway job is conducted by the UPSC. Candidates are appointed for the posts of Civil Service Exam, Engineering Service Exam, and Combined Medical Service Examination.

 Group 'B' Posts:  Candidates cannot apply for the Group B railway posts directly. The Group B posts are Section Officers Grade which is upgraded posts from Group 'C' railway employees on a deputation basis.

Group 'C' Posts:  Technical and Non-Technical cadre posts like Clerk, Station Master, Ticket Collector, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, Engineering posts (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication) etc. are filled for the Group C railway posts. 

Group 'D' Posts:  These posts include Trackman, Helper, Assistant Points Man, Safaiwala / Safaiwali, Gunman, Peon etc.

Other Posts:  ITI Apprentices, Sports Quota, Cultural Quota, Scouts and Guides Quota etc. come in the other posts for Railway Jobs.
