Punjab School Holiday: As per the latest notification issued, the Punjab state government has extended the school holidays in the state until January 13, 2026. The holidays have been extended owing to continuous cold waves and dense fog across the state

The notification was issued by Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains via X. According to the official notification, the holiday extension is applicable to all government, government aided, private, and recognised schools in Punjab. The minister also added that the decision has been taken after reviewing the weather situation and keeping in mind the safety of students and staff members.
The school holiday extension is as per the guidelines issued by Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann. The minister also added that the government felt the need to avoid any risk to children who commute to school early in the day. Schools will now reopen on January 14 and academic activities will continue as usual. School managements have also been directed to strictly follow the instructions issued.
