Delhi University has invited applications for the Competence Enhancement Scheme or CES 2025-26. This scheme is meant for people who want to improve their knowledge and skills through higher education. The biggest highlight is that there is no age limit for admission. Young learners, working professionals and senior citizens can all apply. Through this scheme candidates can study different papers offered by DU departments and colleges if they meet the required qualifications. It is a flexible option for people who want to return to learning and continue their education in a simple and practical way. Scroll down to get more details.

A Fresh Chance to Continue Education

The Competition Enhancement Scheme has been introduced in line with the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020. According to the Institute of Lifelong Learning or ILLL the aim of this scheme is to help those who could not continue higher education earlier for any reason. It gives them a second chance to learn again and improve their educational qualifications. Under CES learners of any age can join classes with regular students and study the papers that match their background and eligibility. This makes the scheme useful for anyone who wants to restart learning without feeling left behind.

Eligibility Admission and Where to Check Details

To get admission under the CES candidates must meet the minimum education qualifications and any required prerequisites for the paper they choose. Admission will depend on seat availability in the concerned department or college. The university has clearly said that seats offered under CES will be additional or supernumeracy seats. This means CES admission will not reduce or affect seats meant for regular admissions. The registration and admission process will remain open throughout the year. This allows learners to begin their studies when it suits them. Delhi University has advised interested candidates to check the CES e brochure on the university administration portal at the ILLL website for full details. These platforms will provide information about available papers, eligibility, registration process and fee structure. Candidates who wish to apply can complete their registration through the CES portal.
