UP Home Guard Selection Process 2026
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board has released 41424 vacancies for Home Guard posts in all the districts. Candidates whose application forms are found valid will only be shortlisted to appear in the written test. As per the latest update, the written exam is scheduled for April 25, 26, and 27, 2026. Those who are planning to appear in this exam must speed up their preparation.
Candidates who clear the cutoffs will be invited to appear in document verification and physical standard test. From among the candidates declared successful in the district-wise Physical Efficiency Test, the board will prepare a separate district-wise selection list of suitable candidates for enrolment. This list will be prepared category-wise and reservation-wise against the vacancies of each district, based on merit determined from the marks obtained in the written examination, marks for preferential qualifications, and other factors.

UP Home Guard Exam Pattern 2026
The first UP Home Guard selection process is the written exam. Candidates whose applications are found in order will be called to appear in the written test. The written exam comprises one objective-type question paper. It will be conducted on an OMR answer sheet. Each question will have 4 answer options, and the candidates must select the option that best suits the question.
The UP Home Guard written exam comprises 100 questions for 100 marks. Each question carries 1 mark. The exam duration will be 120 minutes. The medium of the question paper will be Hindi and English. UP Home Guard Selection Process 2026: Document Verification & Physical Standard
Candidates who are successful in the written exam will be shortlisted for the 2nd stage of the UP Home Guard selection process, i.e., DV & Physical Standard test. In the scrutiny of records, candidates will have to submit relevant documents in respect of eligibility, age, reservation, qualifications, etc. If their documents are found invalid at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled. Candidates who fail to qualify this stage will be disqualified from the enrollment selection process. The physical efficiency test will be qualifying in nature, and no marks will be awarded for this.
