A total of 7,500 vacancies have been announced for the post of Constable (General Duty), split across two cadres:

MP Police Constable 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must fulfil all the eligibility criteria for MP Police Constable listed below:

Educational Qualification:

• Unreserved, SC, and OBC candidates: Class 10 (10+2 system) or Higher Secondary or equivalent from a recognised board

• ST candidates: Class 8 pass or equivalent

Age Limit (as on October 6, 2026):

• The Minimum age is 18 years

• The Maximum age is 33 years (Male, MP Unreserved/EWS, and other-state candidates)

• The Maximum age is 38 years (Female — all categories; Male — SC/ST/OBC, MP govt/corporation employees, Nagar Sainik)

• The Maximum age is 43 years (with additional relaxations such as inter-caste marriage or Vikram Award, where applicable)

• Age relaxation applicable as per government rules for reserved categories, ex-servicemen, and other specified groups

Other Eligibility Conditions:

• Must be an Indian citizen

• Must have live registration at a Madhya Pradesh State Employment Office

MP Police Constable Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The MP Police Constable Selection process will be done in two stages:

Stage 1 - Written Examination (conducted by MPESB): Computer-based objective-type (MCQ) exam of 100 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours' duration, in Hindi/English. No negative marking. Covers:

• General Knowledge & Reasoning – 40 marks

• Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude – 30 marks

• Science & Simple Arithmetic – 30 marks

Stage 2 - Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Document Verification (conducted by the Police Department):

• 800-metre race, long jump, and shot put – 100 marks total (40+30+30)

• Minimum 30% marks required to qualify

• Shot put weight: 7.26 kg (men), 4.00 kg (women)

• Relaxed physical standards for Home Guard and Ex-servicemen candidates

• Original certificate verification is mandatory at this stage

• The final merit list combines normalised written exam scores with PET marks
