Indian Army Agniveer Salary 2026: The salary of an Agniveer in the Indian Army includes basic pay and in-hand salary. Indian Army Agniveer Salary 2026: The Indian Army has announced the Agniveer Intake for the recruitment year 2027. Online applications are invited from 13 February to 01 April 2026 from unmarried Indian male and female candidates under the Agnipath Scheme to join the Indian Army as Agniveers. Selected candidates will serve in the Indian Army for four years. During the first year, the in-hand salary will be approximately ₹21,000 per month, and it will increase every year. In addition to the salary, candidates will receive a “Seva Nidhi” package of ₹10,04,000 at the end of their four-year service. After completing four years, 25% of Agniveers will be selected for permanent enrolment as regular cadres in the Indian Army, based on organisational requirements and performance. In this article, we will explain the Agniveer salary structure, along with the perks and allowances provided during the service period.

Indian Army Agniveer Salary 2026

The starting salary of an Agniveer in the Indian Army is ₹30,000 per month. This salary increases every year during the four-year service period under the Agnipath Scheme. In addition, risk and hardship allowances (as applicable in the Indian Army), dress and travel allowances will be paid. Indian Army Agniveer Terminal Benefits: Seva Nidhi Package

After completing four years of service in the Indian Army, 25% of Agniveers will be selected for permanent enrolment as regular cadres based on merit and organisational requirements. The remaining 75% of Agniveers will exit the service and receive the ‘Seva Nidhi’ package under the Agnipath Scheme. This package includes:

Indian Army Agniveer Leave Policy

The following leave will be granted for Agniveers during their service period. 

Annual Leave: 30 days per year

Sick Leave: Based on medical advice.

Indian Army Agniveer Medical and CSD Facilities Policy

All the Agniveers will be entitled to medical facilities at service hospitals during their service period. Apart from that, they can also avail of the CSD facility

Indian Army Agniveer Insurance and Compensation Policy

Agniveer will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48,00,000 for the duration of their engagement period as Agniveer in the Indian Army. Agniveer will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/Rules for the Indian Army.

Agniveer Skill Certificate Post Service

At the end of the service period, a detailed Skill-set certificate will be provided to the Agniveers, highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by them during their engagement period.
