The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of likely heavy rainfall in several states from July 11 to July 15, 2026. Are Schools Closed Today, July 11 In Telangana?
According to the IMD, Telangana and other southern peninsular states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, are likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall, meaning rain is expected in several areas, till July 16, 2026.
Telangana was scheduled to observe the second Saturday holiday on July 11. However, the Telangana School Education Department cancelled the holiday as the reopening of schools after the summer break was delayed from June 12 to June 15, 2026, resulting in a loss of academic time. As of now, the government has not issued any update regarding school closures due to the weather in Telangana or the other southern states.
Are Schools Closed Today In Delhi-NCR?
The IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall, or rain in several parts of Delhi, till July 16. The Delhi-NCR region witnessed continuous rainfall over the past few days, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion in several areas. On July 9, Gurugram Police issued a two-day work-from-home advisory for corporate offices due to the prevailing weather conditions, while a red alert was issued for Delhi and Gurugram. Ghaziabad also announced school holidays for July 10 following an orange weather alert.
As of now, no notice has been issued regarding the closure of schools across the Delhi-NCR region.
Jharkhand, Odisha And Uttar Pradesh To Witness Rain Across Most Areas
The IMD has forecast fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, meaning rain is expected across most parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, and East and West Uttar Pradesh, till July 16. While no official announcement regarding school closures has been made so far, local authorities may issue holidays depending on the weather conditions.
School Holiday In Mumbai, Bihar
According to the IMD, Madhya Maharashtra, including Mumbai, and Bihar are likely to witness isolated to scattered rainfall, meaning rain is expected in several areas, till July 16. As of now, no school holiday has been announced in these regions.
