NEET UG 2026 Registrations: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 registrations. Candidates will need to register and apply on the official website at neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is March 8, 2026, for the NEET UG 2026 exam slated to begin on May 3, 2026.

The NTA has made significant changes to this year's application process, focusing on stricter identity checks. According to an official notice previously released by the agency, NTA has made Aadhaar-based eKYC mandatory for NEET UG 2026 applications. New changes also include a live photo capture to curb cheating and duplicate sign-ups.

How to upload Live photograph for NEET UG Registration 2026?

Candidates must upload a live photograph when filling out the NEET UG 2026 application form.

  • To capture the live photograph, candidates should use their device's camera or a connected webcam.
  • If the device lacks webcam support, candidates can scan the QR code on the right side of the Application Form using a mobile device or tablet.
  • The background should be light-colored with proper lighting.
  • The face (including ears, without a mask) must be 80% visible.
  • The live photograph will be matched against the Aadhaar database.
  • If the live photograph does not match the Aadhaar record, or if candidates use an identity verification method other than Aadhaar, they must verify their identity by uploading a signed and attested certificate, along with a recent photograph, as per Annexure-VI.
  • This certificate and photograph must be duly certified by their School/College Principal or Headmaster, or attested by a Class-I Gazetted Officer (such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM), or a Class-I Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates).

NEET UG Application 2026: Aadhaar based eKYC

This year, NTA has made Aadhaar-based eKYC mandatory for NEET UG 2026 applications. It will help verify your details using Aadhaar ID electronically, to stop cheating and fake applications. Given, your Aadhaar-linked mobile number must be active and have good network coverage for verification. Students must ensure their Aadhaar details are correct and their mobile number is ready.
