SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Day Guidelines
SSC aims to fill 14582 vacancies across various Group B and Group C posts in different Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations through the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2025. The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will take place on 18th & 19th January 2026. As per the latest notice, Paper 1 Section IV (Skill Test (DEST)) will be conducted on 18th January 2026. SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Day Guidelines- Dos and Don’ts
Aspirants should stay updated with the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam day guidelines in advance. It will help them carry the right documents, reach the test centre on time, and ensure a smooth exam experience. The list of dos and don’ts for the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam is:

Reach the test centre at least 2 hours before the scheduled start of the examination. This helps you finish all the verification formalities without any rush.

Bring a hard copy of your SSC CGL Tier 2 Admit Card to the exam centre.

Carry at least two passport-size photographs to the test centre.

Bring one original Photo ID Proof, such as Aadhaar Card/ printout of E-Aadhaar, Driving License, Voter Card, PAN Card, Identity Card issued by University/ College/ Government, Employer ID Card, etc, to the exam venue. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to appear in the exam.

If a Photo Identity Card does not have the Date of Birth printed in it, then the aspirant must carry an additional original certificate in proof of their Date of Birth.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL Tier 2 exam is divided into two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is further divided into two sessions. Paper I is compulsory for all the posts. Paper-II will be for only those aspirants who apply for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) posts in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Statistical Investigator Grade-II. CGL Tier-II comprises objective-type questions, except for Section-IV of Paper-I. SSC CGL Marking Scheme
The SSC CGL Tier 2 marking scheme is quite straightforward. There is negative marking for wrong answers in the test. In Sections I, II, and III of Paper I, each question carries 3 marks, and a negative marking of 1 mark is applicable for every incorrect answer.
