CTET Exam 2026: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is conducting the CTET exam on 07 and 08 February 2026. The exam is being conducted in offline mode in two shifts for Paper I and Paper II. Paper II is being conducted in the morning shift from 09:30 am to 12:00 pm. Paper I is being conducted in the afternoon shift. CTET Exam Analysis 2026: The Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level examination which is being conducted to determine the eligibility of a candidate to teach primary and upper primary levels. The CTET consists of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is conducted to assess the eligibility for teaching primary (class 1 to 5) and upper primary (class 6 to 8) levels. The exam is being conducted in the offline mode. The CTET consists of objective type questions with sections on teaching aptitude and child development and pedagogy and other subjects. There is no provision for negative marking.

    CTET Exam 2026: Paper 2 Not Conducted in 2 Exam Centres

    The CBSE has posted a tweet on "X", announcing that the CTET exam for Paper 2 has not been conducted across 02 examination centres. Out of 1803, Paper 2 has been conducted at 1801 centres. The examination was not conducted at at Vaishali (Hajipur) (125016 - ST. JOHN'S ACADEMY, BASMATI NAGAR and 125014 - LAKSHYA INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY) due to unavoidable circumstances.

    Paper I of the CTET exam has been conducted in the afternoon shift today (08 Feb) from 02:30 pm to 05:00 pm. The exam has been concluded now at 05:00 pm and shortly we will provide the exam analysis for Paper I.

    Will there be negative marking in CTET?

    There is no provision for negative marking in the CTET exam. This is the national level exam to assess the eligibility of a candidate to teach classes 1 to 8. The qualified candidates will only get a certificate of eligibility, that's why there is no provision of negative marking as the candidates are required to just qualify the exam by obtaining the minimum marks.
