Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal was an Army officer who was ADC to President Droupadi Murmu.
In the military, an ADC is an individual who helps a general with his official programmes and other duties. Consequently, Sambyal was seen walking with the President at various functions and ceremonies.
He is also referred as Rishabh Singh, ADC to the President, in the President's Secretariat, in an official Gazette of India (GoI) notice published in June 2023. The same notice said that he later took his new name “Rishabh Singh Sambyal”.

When Did He Become President Murmu’s ADC?
Major Sambyal was selected as an ADC to President Droupadi Murmu in March 2023.
He was spotted in various official photographs and videos with the President Murmu and started to appear in official photos and videos soon after joining the President's team.
This was when he was a familiar face for most.
But that was no thanks to being the face of the cameras. He was an ADC and a part of the President's official staff and military protocol.
Why Did Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal Leave the Army?
After about 12 years of service, Major Sambyal has retired early.
He announced his retirement in the late of August 2026. He had extensive experience in the Presidency as ADC to the President.
He met President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 21st August 2026. Later he sent some pictures from this meeting to the President, thanking her for her advice and blessings.
So, Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal was well known among the people as his name appeared in the role of ADC (Assistant Commandant General) to President Droupadi Murmu. His photo captures at official events were going viral, giving him popularity.
Prior to that, however, he served for many years in the Indian Army, including a stint with the Jat Regiment and 4 Para Special Forces.
