On March 13, 2026, at a 100-day countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, the Ministry of Ayush unveiled the Yoga 365 campaign at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi as part of the Yoga Mahotsav-2026.
At the national level, this program is meant to transform yoga into a regular exercise rather than an annual event as a way of maintaining physical fitness, clarity of mind, and emotional stability.
Who Launched the Yoga 365 Event?
The unveiling of the Yoga 365 logo under the Yoga Mahotsav-2026 was done by the Union Minister of State (IC) of Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav. The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) entered an MoU with wellness platform Habuild to offer free daily online yoga classes, thereby increasing the level of accessibility in terms of region and age bracket.
Other important figures were Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and Joint Secretary Monalisa Dash who stressed on a culture of daily wellness.
What are the Goals of this Yoga 365?
Yoga 365 focuses on a gap between high awareness, 95% in rural and 96% in urban India according to a national sample survey (NSS) and low practices since just 1.1 crore rural and 1.4 crore urban families claim to regularly practice yoga.
It encourages long-term participation on the basis of behavior change communication, community mobilization, and institutional integration at schools, offices, and neighborhoods.
The campaign is based on the success of IDY that has more than 26 crore participants in 2025 to make it a year-round event.
Major Strengths and Collaborations
Structured practice at every level is provided through free online sessions through Habuild that are an integration of technology and tradition. Yoga 365 is a platform of other programs such as Y-Break to corporates, Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) to the general population, and therapeutic programs to non-communicable diseases.
Partnerships with organizations, companies, and society seek to instill yoga within the workplaces and into healthcare settings.
Through the introduction of yoga into daily life, the program promotes preventive health and wellness across the country. It goes hand in hand with the efforts of the Ministry of Ayush to promote the traditional systems of Ayurveda and Yoga and make India a global leader in wellness. The extensive recognition might translate into a national habit thus improving the health of the people.
