UPSC CAPF Vacancy 2026: Force-wise Distribution
The commission has distributed the 349 vacancies across five major paramilitary forces. The BSF (Border Security Force) and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) hold the highest share of vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CAPF 2026
To apply for the Assistant Commandant position, candidates must fulfil the following fourfold eligibility criteria:
Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India. Subjects of Nepal and Bhutan are also eligible. Other nationalities must obtain prior written consent from the Central Government.
Age Limit (As of August 1, 2026)
The candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have exceeded 25 years.
Born Not Earlier Than: August 2, 1999
Born Not Later Than: August 1, 2004
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 Years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
Civilian Central Government Servants: Up to 5 Years
Educational Qualification
A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature. Candidates appearing in their final year can also apply provisionally.
Physical Standards
Candidates must meet the minimum physical requirements specified by the UPSC:
Height: 165 cm (Male) | 157 cm (Female)
Chest: 81 cm (with 5 cm expansion) for Males.
