UP TET 2026 Paper 1 Exam Pattern

Paper 1 for UP TET is being conducted to assess the eligibility of the candidates to teach primary level (classes 1 to 5). The paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the total number of questions are 150 with the time duration allotted is 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates can choose English, Urdu or Sanskrit as Language-II based on their preference. All questions are compulsory objective type questions with four options.

UP TET 2026 Paper 2 Exam Pattern

UP TET Paper 2 is designed to determine the candidates eligibility to teach upper primary students (Class 6 to 8). Paper 2 also consists of 150 questions for 150 marks with each question carrying 1 mark and there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The candidates are provided 2 hours 30 minutes duration to complete the exam. Candidates need to choose either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies based on their teaching subject preference.

The candidates preparing for the UP TET exam, must know the marking scheme pattern which is:

  • +1 mark will be provided for each correct answer.

  • No penalty for incorrect or unattempted questions, which means there is no negative marking. This means that the candidates can attempt as many questions as they want without the fear of negative marking.
