Maharashtra Public Holiday for Civic Polls

Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) has announced official public holiday on January 15, 2026. The holiday is directive towards government, and semi-government offices, public sector undertakings, banks, and other public institutions. 

The holiday is implements for the areas which will have civic elections, surrounding 29 municipal corporations which includes cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur. The decision came in effect to curb incovenience, facilitate voter participation, and to procure logistical management on election day.

There's no notice released exclusively for educational institutions as for now. Students and Parents are advised to keep an eye on school updates.
