Kolkata, Feb 11: The Adamas University organized their 9th Convocation Ceremony in the year 2010 on Tuesday at the Barasat campus, with a significant academic achievement of 1,527 students representing different disciplines were conferred their degrees. The awards included 992 Undergraduate, 457 National Education Policy undergraduate, 22 PhD, 54 Diploma, 2 programmes (NEP). Together with the degrees, there were 12 Gold Medals and 20 Silver Medals to be awarded to reward outstanding academic performance.
The event was conducted under the noble company of the Hon’ble Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose. West Bengal Governor, who was Chief Guest and gave an address to the graduating cohort, faculty, and university management. In his speech, he urged the students to put theirs into practice purposeful, honest, and self-sacrificing education.
Hon’ble Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray and Hon’ble Vice- headed the proceedings. Prof. Suranjan Das is the chancellor. With the dais were notable figures among whom was Dr. T. G. Sitharam, the former Chairman of the All India Council of technical education (AICTE); Dr. Satya Gupta, President of the VLSI Society of India; and Amlan Chakrabarti, Director of the A. K. Choudhury School of Information Technology.
In the convocation, four Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) degrees were awarded. prominent figures -Indrajeet Mitra, Ashish Agarwal, Ajit Singh, and Preetham.
Nagarigari - as an acknowledgement of their outstanding professional achievements and contributions to their respective domains. In his address to the congregation, Hon’ble Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray remarked, Convocation is not only the end of academic life but also a new beginning of responsibility. In Adamas University, we are trying to mold graduates that are globally knowledgeable, socially responsible, and competent and integrity-driven to serve as a leader.
Adamas University, which was founded with the purpose to improve higher education in eastern India attaining NAAC Grade, A, has established a solid reputation with academic rigour, purposive programmes, and purposeful industry co-operation. The institution continues to expand its multidisciplinary portfolio with a focus on outcome based learning, skill improvement, and global interaction.
The 9th Convocation was a reiteration of the determination of the university to equip the future. under its long-term knowledge, ethical, and professional guiding principles, leaders, innovators, and professionals and social responsibility.
