The Central Board of Secondary Education will commence the CBSE class 10 second examinations today, May 15, 2026. The CBSE class 10 main exam was conducted in February-March 2026, and the result was declared on April 15, 2026.
Candidates who wish to improve their scores as compared to the main exams were required to fill out the applications for the second exam. As per the schedule released, the exams will be conducted from May 15 to 21, 2026. The admit cards for the second exam were released earlier last week. Candidates appearing for the exams must make sure they report to the exam centres as per the schedule given on their CBSE 10th 2026 second exam admit card.
CBSE 10th second exam will be conducted in a single session from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across all designated exam centres. Students are advised to report to the centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exams to complete the verification process.
CBSE 10th Exam 2026: Second Exam Statistics
As per reports, a total of 6,68,854 students will be appearing for the exams, of which 85,285 are appearing under compartment, and 5,25,655 have registered for improvement of scores. From the total number of students, 2,66,209 are female, and 4,02,643 are male candidates. A total of 1,92,508 candidates have opted for one subject, and 2,79,227 have registered for two subjects. 1,97,119 students will appear for three subjects.
CBSE Class 10 Second Exam 2026 Instructions by the Board
1. Reporting Time: No candidate will be permitted to enter the examination centre after 10:00 AM. Students must plan their travel, considering local weather and traffic conditions, and ensure arrival well before the reporting time.
2. Dress Code & Documents: Candidates must report in proper school uniform, carrying both their school identity card and the CBSE-issued Admit Card. Only prescribed stationery items are allowed. Possession of electronic devices, including mobile phones, is strictly prohibited inside the examination premises.
3. Conduct: Candidates must refrain from spreading rumours or sharing examination-related material on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, YouTube, X, etc.
