Who succeeded Samudragupta?

His son Chandragupta II, popularly known as Vikramaditya, succeeded him after his death. Chandragupta II carried on his father's legacy by growing the empire and bringing about what is commonly referred to as the "Golden Age of India," a time of immense wealth, scientific breakthroughs, and cultural blossoming. The Gupta dynasty is considered to be one of the most influential dynasties of ancient India.
